If I was not student of maths and science as well as astronomy with satelite (electronics and telecommunication). I could expressed it in different ways. But as I studied it all I just go with below way . Pi is basically related to circle or sphere. It means both भूगोल (geography) & खगोल (astronomy) are the relative to that . What was my first formula for pi it was 22/7. Our longitude and latitude are having 180 imaginary lines and same 360 lines making grid for gegraphical calculation. Same stuff we implementned in sky which is called rashis or nakshatra. So LCM of 12 & 27 is 108 hence it got divided by 9 & 4 approximately. So it will be 360/108 that is 3degrees & 20 min. As we know nakshatra are exactly 27 but there timings at sky are somehow different. To adjust it to avarage whatever series in different Times made by different people.
